Gungahlin Lakes Pennant Teams

This post is to inform all members on how our pennant teams are progressing this pennant season. 

For those members (about 180 members) that have access to our Facebook page (Gungahlin Lakes Golf Members), you may have seen most of the pennant results as these are generally posted on our Facebook page each week.

We have 9 pennant teams, 6 men’s teams, 2 women’s teams and a junior team, see summary below.

A grade division 1 team

Our club’s top team is having a great season so far and are currently in 4th place with 4 wins and 2 losses.  They play against a strong Royal Canberra team in the last round next week and will need to win to have a chance of making the finals.

A grade division 2 team

This team has had a lot of close results without success but had a great win on the weekend.  They have had 1 win and 5 losses.  Unfortunately, it is unlikely the team will make the finals.

B Scratch team

This team has been performing well and beat the top team on the weekend.  They have had 3 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss.  With two matches remaining they will need to win at least one of those matches for a chance to play in the finals.

Handicap team

This team is playing very well and is currently undefeated and on top of the ladder with 5 wins from 5 matches.  They are guaranteed of playing in the semi-finals.

Senior Scratch team

This team has played well and had a great win against a strong Royal Canberra team last week.  They have had 2 wins and one loss, with one week washed out.  They are guaranteed a place in the semifinals.

Senior Handicap team

This team has played well and have had one win, three draws and one loss, with one week washed out.  They will need to win their remaining two matches to have an outside chance of making the finals.

Bronze Shield Women’s team

This team has played one match and had a great win over Murrumbidgee.  There are 4 more matches to be played before the finals.

Brindabella Shield Women’s team

This team has played two matches with one win and one loss.  There are 4 more matches to be played before the finals.

Junior team

Our juniors have played very well with 1 win, 2 draws and 1 loss.  They will need to win their remaining 3 games to have a chance of making the finals.
